Rujuta is a Senior Lawyer at Biztech Lawyers, advising technology companies on a range of matters. Before joining Biztech, she worked as in-house counsel at various technology companies and financial institutions where she supported the business on implementation of new products, regulatory compliance as well as general business-as-usual matters.
Prior to that, she spent 3+ years in Big Law and gained hands-on experience with M&A and large infrastructure projects. Having previously founded her own start-up, she is commercially-minded and brings a pragmatic approach to legal problem-solving. Her expertise lies in negotiating complex commercial contracts and tackling novel issues.
Rujuta enjoys travelling (has lived in 3 countries so far), reading and tennis (now pickleball).
The role of a good startup lawyer is about being able to understand the commercial realities of the high risk nature of startups, whilst also being able to guide founders on which risks could and should be mitigated.
