Sharon Taraska

Sharon is a Senior Attorney at Biztech with more than 20 years of experience advising organizations on contract strategy and negotiation, risk management and complex commercial transactions. Most recently, Sharon served as Interim Director of Contracts and Assistant Director of Clinical Trials at the University of Virginia’s Office of Sponsored Programs, where she provided leadership and technical expertise across a broad portfolio of life science research initiatives.

She has deep expertise in the areas of clinical research, technology development, intellectual property, data privacy, FDA regulatory considerations, and related compliance frameworks. Prior to UVA, Sharon spent more than a decade at Robinson + Cole LLP advising clients on complex environmental, land use and real estate matters, including regulatory compliance, due diligence and risk allocation, and remediation strategy in connection with property acquisitions and redevelopment projects.

Sharon is known for her practical, solutions-oriented approach to transactions and her ability to translate legal complexity into clear business guidance. She earned her J.D. from Penn State Dickinson Law and her B.A. in English from the University of Virginia, where she was also a scholarship cross-country and track & field athlete.

When not practicing law, Sharon enjoys playing tennis, hiking with her silver lab (Goose), traveling, reading and visiting her four children who are working and living up and down the East Coast.
